Class Dates: Wednesdays 6/10 - 7/22, 6-7pm
Location: Riverside Arts Center, 76 N. Huron St, Ypsilanti 48197
Who: Adult beginners (18+) 2 months -2 years experience, ALL string instruments! (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Guitar, Mandolin)
Cost: $210

Discover the joy of chamber music in your first ensemble! This class is for adult beginner level players (0 - 2 years experience) of string instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, also accepting guitar and mandolin! We'll play two, three, and four part harmonies inspired by classical, fiddle, folk & world music traditions. We will work on refining technique as we go along. Students will expand their music theory knowledge by learning about different time signatures, practicing music reading, and playing pieces in different keys and the corresponding scales to go with. Students will also gain the valuable experience of getting to both play, and listen to others at the same time - of alternating between leading and following - and of realizing new musical horizons in collaborating with others.
Weekly Time Commitment:
Class time plus four to five at home practice sessions of 20 - 30 minutes. Students are encouraged to form groups and rehearse together outside of class when possible!
Schedule:
5:40 - 5:55 Arrive at building, unpack outside classroom
6:00 - 6:10 Setup/Tune
6:10 - 6:55 Class Time
6:55 - 7:00 Assignments & Pack-Up
Important! You must arrive on time. Riverside Arts Center keeps its doors locked and once instruction starts I won't be able to leave class to let in late comers.

Rates: 4 Lesson Package
60 min x 4: $300
45 min x 4: $225

Single/A La Carte Lesson Hourly Rate: $80
Description:
For students wanting to work on solo repertoire or make faster progress, I recommend weekly lessons.
Students wanting extra help with group class rep & technique in the ensemble class to maximize their progress are recommended every other week lessons.
Students enrolled in an intensive 2x/weekly group such as Level Up need not take regular lessons but may want a single lesson once during the course to get some focused help on their specific musical & technical needs.
